Sea Salt Spray and Texture Spray Magic: There's nothing quite like the tousled, beachy waves that come from a day at the shore. To recreate this effortlessly chic look, grab a high-quality salt spray. Apply it to damp hair, scrunch your locks, and let the sea salt work its magic. This creates that coveted texture, adding volume and body to your hair. Here are my favs:

Braid It Up: A beach day essential that's both stylish and protective is braiding your hair. Before hitting the sand, try different braided hairstyles like loose fishtails or Dutch braids. Not only do these styles look cute, but they also shield your hair from the damaging effects of sun and saltwater.

Hats On, Hair Protected: Never underestimate the power of a wide-brimmed hat or a stylish scarf to shield your tresses from the scorching sun. Not only does it make a chic fashion statement, but it also offers an extra layer of protection against harmful UV rays, preventing hair dryness and color fading.

Pre-Swim Treatment: Want to prevent your hair from absorbing too much chlorine or saltwater? Before taking a dip in the pool or ocean, give your hair a quick rinse with fresh water. Wet hair is less porous, which means it won't soak up as much chlorinated or salty water, keeping your locks healthier in the long run. Also add any kind of conditioner or hair mask on your freshly dampened hair to create a barrier. Bring a spray bottle of water to reapply when needed. It is good to use a product that also has UV protectant, for info on this check out my blog How To Protect Your Hair from the Sun

Post-Swim Rinse and Hydration: After your beach adventures, remember to rinse your hair thoroughly to remove any residual salt or pool chemicals. Follow up with a nourishing hair mask to restore moisture and replenish any lost nutrients. This helps to prevent dryness, frizz, and breakage. Here are some great options for after the beach or pool:

Gentle Detangling: We all know how easily our hair can get tangled after a day in the wind and waves. To avoid unnecessary breakage, use a wide-tooth comb or a gentle detangling brush to work through knots. Start from the ends and work your way up to avoid causing damage.

Protection from Over styling: While it's tempting to style your beachy waves with a hot tool, try to limit heat styling tools like flat irons and curling wands. Instead, opt for heatless styling methods, like braiding your damp hair overnight to wake up to beautiful, natural waves ad even add some of that sea salt or texture spray for extra volume and texture.

There you have it, my beach-loving friends! By following these hair hacks and care tips, you'll be able to rock that effortlessly chic beachy look while keeping your hair healthy and protected. Remember, embracing your hair's natural beauty is key, and a little love and attention go a long way in maintaining those luscious locks. So, go forth, enjoy the sun, surf, put your feet in the sand, and let your hair shine like the starfish in the sea!
