How to Get Rid of a Huge Zit Fast

by Corinne Shoemaker

The sun is rising, birds are singing, and you actually got a sufficient amount of sleep last night. It feels like it’s going to be a good day.

Then you step in front of a mirror -- and find a huge angry zit staring back at you.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Follow our tips to learn how you can eliminate that pesky little bugger and save the day while there’s still time.

1. Avoid Squeezing It

We know, you’ve heard it a million times, but that’s only because it is so important! Popping a zit won’t get rid of it. In fact, it can spawn a secondary infection and may even leave a scar. Do yourself a favor and leave it alone.

    2. Treat It

Get into the habit of using anti-blemish face products and, when zits start to crop up, a topical spot treatment that contains salicylic acid or sulfur. We like Sebum Clearing Masque by Dermalogica (it contains antiseptic benefits and a high concentration of sulfur). Make sure that you apply the product before bed.

    3. Soothe It

Heat up a wet washcloth and gently press it to the zit for about thirty seconds. Follow this up with a clay mask, like Skin Refining Masque By Dermalogica, to help eliminate impurities.

      4. Allow Your System To Chill

Stick to simpler meals for a few days. Work in some vegetables that are high in fiber, and try to get a lot of digestive enzymes in your system (like yogurt or pineapple) to increase the level of good bacteria in your stomach. This will help prevent zits from popping up in the future.

That’s it! We hope you find our tips useful. If you can think of anyone else who might benefit from this article, please share it.
