Stylists Review Living Proof Texture Spray!
So many brands have really solid texture sprays, so it can be difficult to find the best one. That doesn’t just apply to texture spray, it’s shampoo, conditioner, heat protectant, etc. It’s also important to note that not everything is a one-size-fits-all type of product, either. In terms of texture spray, there are plenty of great options… Amika, Verb, Onesta- the list goes on. So, we asked some Warehouse stylists, who are using and trying new products constantly, which one takes the cake. Their answer- Living Proof Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray.
Warehouse stylist and owner Nick Mirabella candidly shared the reality of the amount of hair products stylists have to choose from. “There’s so many products we have in the salon, you don’t get a chance to use all of them, and how many favorite products can you have, that do the same thing?” He explains that after attending a hair show in which they used this specific texture spray, he decided to give it a try. He then explains that “[he] was so pleasantly surprised when [[he] used this texture spray,” and it’s become his go to products whether it’s adding “volume, obviously texture, or just a little extra umph to the hair.”
Mirabella goes on to talk with another Warehouse salon stylist, Nicole Calabrese, about how to apply the spray. He says he likes to spray it on the root, underneath and on top, getting pretty close to the root, then push the hair up. That way you have some “buildable texture” to work with. He explains that “it doesn’t build up on the hair,” or make it feel extra dirty or sticky like other texture sprays can. Often times, texturizing/volumizing sprays feel sticky, which can make your hair feel worse and throw off curl patterns or other styles when your stylist tries to brush through them.
Calabrese, who often does extensions, says that she’s been using this product for months on her clients and herself. “I can put it in every day, and not have an issue.” Unlike other texture sprays, or sometimes products like dry shampoos, they have a lot of buildup over time, but Calabrese says she can still go her usual week without a wash. She also uses it as a dry shampoo from time to time.
Ultimately, Mirabella says, “If you… can’t find a texture spray that you like (or some kind of, after the blow dryer volumizing lift root booster,) give this product a shot!”
