5 Ways to Do Your Makeup in Even Less Time

by Corinne Shoemaker

As much as we love our time in the mirror, it’s always nice to have a few extra minutes in the morning to catch your breath! That’s why we’ve rounded up a few simple tips to help you shorten your makeup routine. Read on to learn five ways that you can do your makeup in less time.

Filling in your brows: Start by lining the underside of your brow with an eyebrow pencil. Work from the outside of your brows inward. By shaping your eyebrows in this manner, you will create a sharper and more natural look that can be blended easily. Next, dip an angled brush in brow powder to fill your brows. Apply with short, quick strokes to create the illusion of more hair. Again, work from the outer corners of your brows inward. Easy!

Lining your lips: Apply your favorite lipstick (we love Beauty Addicts’ Beautiful Lips Lipstick). Then, apply definition with a lip liner only where necessary. Use a color that is only one shade lighter than your lipstick.

Creating smoky cat eyes with shadow: Take a flat-tipped brush and apply a soft golden-bronze shadow to your eyelid. Next, apply a dark matte brown shadow (try Beauty Addicts’ Solution Eyes Eyeshadow) using a pointed eyeshadow brush. Color your upper lash line, forming wings at the outer corners of your eyes. If they aren’t quite sharp enough, dress them up using a cotton swab and some concealer.

Applying blush: The fastest way to apply blush is to smile and use a rounded brush with a flat edge to make light strokes from the apples of your cheeks to the tops of your ears. This also gives you more control over where your blush goes!

Sculpting your cheekbones: Many people waste more time on contouring than they need to. For example, not everyone should want their foreheads to appear smaller, so they apply bronzer where they don’t need it. While the amount of contouring you should apply will differ from others, we can all use a little chiseling on our cheeks. Watch this video for a quick tutorial (start at 2:15)...
