How You Can Support Your Hairstylist
As a client of a hair stylist, there are many ways to show your support and appreciation for their hard work. Small gestures can make a big difference in the life of a hair stylist. In this blog I'll talk about ways you can support your hair stylist:
Leaving a Positive Review
Reviews are an important part of the hair styling industry, and they can help stylists gain more clients. Reviews also help stylists build their reputation and can be used as a form of advertising. When leaving a review, be sure to include details about the services provided, the quality of the work, and any other positive experiences you had with the stylist. You can leave reviews on google, their booking site, on Instagram, or any other social platform.
Interact on Social Media.
Posting a review or a selfie on social media will help everyone know who does your hair! If you love your hair, we want your followers to love it too! They want to know who worked magic on your mane. We would love to see your like sand comments on the salon page too! This shows your stylist or salon that you love their work! if you are not social media savvy, any type of review will show your support! Save some photos you like of your stylist and show them as inspiration during your next appointment!
Refer Friends and Family
Referring friends and family to your hair stylist is another great way to show your support. Word-of-mouth referrals are one of the most powerful forms of advertising and they can help stylists gain more clients. When referring someone to your stylist, be sure to provide details about the services provided, the quality of the work, and any other positive experiences you had with the stylist.
Being patient is another important way to show your support for your hair stylist. Hair can be a time-consuming process especially when going blonde or doing any kind of color transformation. It is important to be patient with your stylist as they work as they are working to perfect. Additionally, it is important to be understanding if something does not turn out as expected or if there is a delay in service due to unforeseen circumstances. Talk to them and they will be more than happy to fix your hair to their needs to their best ability. Some unforeseen circumstances could be your hair condition, your hair color history, etc. Make sure to read my blog "Why Consultations Are Important," to learn more about this.
Prebook Your Appointments
Prebooking shows your stylist you are willing to maintain your new look because you love it so much! This helps you ensure you have the time you need to come into the salon, but also helps your stylist keep their books filled! This shows your stylist you support their craft and will maintain the hair they worked hard to give you. You can always call to cancel ahead of time if something comes up!
Purchase Products in the Salon
Purchasing suggested products at the salon will show your stylist you trust their recommendations. You are also supporting a smaller business in the end! You can also support The Warehouse Salon by buying products through our online site.
Being Mindful of Their Time
Being mindful of your hair stylist’s time is another great way to show your support. Hair styling appointments can often run over time due to unforeseen circumstances or because of client requests. It is important to be respectful of your stylist’s time and be mindful of any delays that may occur during the appointment. They don't want you to have to wait either so they will make sure to accommodate you when they can.
This is also important when needing to cancel your appointment. If you need to cancel for emergencies, by all means things happen. However, if in any way possible it is important to give 24-48 hours' notice depending on the salon's policy. Salons make sure to allot time for your service where they are not seeing other guests, please make sure to be mindful when needing to cancel your appointments.
There are many ways to show your support for your hair stylist. From buying Starbucks to leaving a positive review, these small gestures can make a big difference in the life of a hair stylist. Other ways to show your support include referring friends and family, being patient, bringing snacks, and being mindful of their time. By taking these steps, you can show your appreciation for your hair stylist and help them succeed in their career. We love our clients so much and are so happy to have your support!
