Tips on Styling Hair Extensions
Styling hair extensions can be a daunting task, but with the right tools and techniques, you can create beautiful, long-lasting styles. There are several different methods for styling hair extensions, including curling, straightening, crimping, and braiding. Each method has its own unique advantages and disadvantages, so it’s important to understand the basics of each before attempting to style your hair extensions. So let’s break down ways to style your hair extensions and how to use them to create stunning looks!
Curl it!
Curling is a great way to style hair extensions, definitely one of my favorites! It’s a great way to add body and bounce to your hair while also creating a more natural look. To curl your extensions, start by sectioning off the hair into small sections. Then, use a curling iron to curl each section of hair. Depending on which look you are trying to create, a 1 to 2 inch curling iron is going to be your best friend. Make sure to use a low heat setting to avoid damaging your extensions and a good heat protectant such as the Sebastian Trilliant Heat Protecting Spray. When you’re finished, use a texture spray or serum to help keep the curls in place. My favorites are the Living Proof Dry Shampoo or Onesta Lumaoil.
Straighten it!
Straightening is a great way to create sleek and smooth styles with your extensions. To straighten your hair, use a flat iron to straighten each section of hair. Make sure to use a low heat setting to avoid damaging the extensions and use a heat protectant, such as the Sebastian Trilliant Heat Protecting Spray. When you’re finished, To finish the style, use a serum, such as the Sudzzfx Zenith Frizz Eliminator to help keep the style sleek with no frizz!
Crimp it!
Crimping is a great way to add texture and volume to your extensions. To crimp your extensions, use a crimping iron to crimp each section of hair. This style is amazing because it can last days! This is a great option when you are going on vacation and do not want to worry about your style being ruined while traveling! To secure your look, a good texture spray, like the AZ Amplify Texturizing Spray is definitely the way to go!
Braid it!
Braiding is one of the many ways to style hair extensions. It’s a great way to add texture and volume to your hair while also keeping it secure. To create a braid, section off the hair into three equal parts and begin braiding the sections together, starting at the root and working your way down. Braids can be customized in so many ways, by keeping them tight and getting a beautiful style the next day, or creating a loose braid for an eccentric boho look. Braids are great for going to the beach, for a girls night out, or even just a lazy Sunday at home!
Hair extensions can be a fun and creative way to add length and volume to your look. With the right tools and techniques, you can create stunning styles that last for days! Curling, straightening, crimping, and braiding are all amazing methods to help you create beautiful looks that are sure to turn heads. So don’t be afraid to experiment with different styles and products to find what works best for you!
